Great Wolf Lodge: Wisconsin Dells, WI

Great Wolf Lodge is the hotel and waterpark that we chose to stay at in Wisconsin Dells.  Apparently June is the time to go!  They upgraded our room when we arrived.  Everything was clean and comfortable and new.  We even had a cozy fireplace in the suite.  It was not too crowded.  No lines to get down the slides.  We weren't able to use the outdoor area because it never got warm enough, but with so many slides and play areas inside, we were not dissappointed.

The hotel had fun activites for the kids in the mornings and evenings.  Maddie and Max liked the Wolf Walk where they made origami wolves.  In the evenings there is a story time a Clock Tower Show.  We missed that since we were sliding from the moment we checked in until the kid were starving for dinner.

The kids enjoyed Fort Mackenzie, a four story treehouse water fort with water sprayers, soaker buckets and water slides.  There is a 1,000 gallon soaker bucket that dumps over every few minutes after a warning bell clangs.  Here are the kids waiting for it, then running from the crashing water.

Maxwell considers this the best part of our road trip.  He was howling his wolf howls for weeks and weeks afterwards.  In the car, he had Maddie write down his list of places he wants to go on our next road trip.  It started and ended at Great Wolf Lodge, with stops in Africa, India, and Costa Rica.  Can't wait for that trip.

Know Before You Go:  The park is only for hotel guests, and they let you use your wrist band from the time you check in and through the entire next day.  You can check out of your room and then continue to play.  We brought a few toiletries and a change of clothes back in with us.  When we were done, we used the showers in the restrooms to clean up and then hit the road!  It was great!
