While in the Rapid City area, we stayed at the Sylvan Lake Lodge in Custer State Park. The lodge itself it beautifully situated. The dining room is very pretty and welcoming. The service was nice and the food was amazing. I would drive all the way there again for more of that elk. Mmmm. Our cabin was comfortable and right near Sylvan Lake.
The kids liked climbing on the granite at the edges of the lake. They were searching for rose quartz in the sand.
We wanted to stay for another day to relax and enjoy the lake and have dinner at the lodge one more time. Unfortunately, the cabins were all booked.
