Science Museum of Minnesota: St.Paul, MN

We decided to go the the Minnesota Science Museum today. This place is pretty big, and full of things to do. It is well designed for all ages, but older kids will get more out of most of the exhibits. It was free for us because they participate in the ASTC passport program. We have a membership at our local science museum, so the benefits extend to over 200 museums around the country. Yay!

Here are Ethan, Ellen, Madeline and Maxwell acting as newscasters.

From the cryogenics shows to the experiments in the cellular lab, the kids had a blast. We will definitely be back!

In the front lobby, we noticed a National Parks station. It was the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area . They had a Junior Rangers Program, so the kids participated in that and earned a certificate and badge. They were so excited. Here they are being sworn in as official Junior Rangers.

We are going to be doing Junior Ranger Programs all throughout our road trip. The kids prepared at home by becoming Web Rangers. That is a fun, online program where kids can learn about the National Parks by playing games and earning e-badges. If they complete the program, the NPS will mail them an official Web Rangers Patch! Pretty cool I think!
