The World Famous Tree House: Piercy, Ca

Yes, this is the World Famous Tree House of Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not fame. It's an impressive, 4,000-year-old tree hollowed out into a 21-foot-by-27-foot room with a 50-foot-high ceiling. My sisters and I would always beg to stop here on the way home from camping at the Grove. We looked forward to picking out a souvenir... like a wooden nickel or a coat-pin of our initial carved out of redwood.
We always took a picture with the bear out front.
The Tree House was closed this day, but we went back on Friday and it was open. Yay!

Max liked the Flaming Indian statue. Who wouldn't?

Know Before You Go: When we were kids, you were able to go through the front door entrance. You could walk right in to the tree house room. Now you need to enter on the side through the main gift shop, and may easily miss the best part if you don't know about it! Make sure you go directly to the walkway into the actual tree house. A hanging lightbulb lights up the room and you can see up 50 feet to the cobwebbed ceiling. There are 3 awesome antique, quarter operated dioramas. Pop in a quarter to make them go. They are one of a kind, hand carved, and entrancing to kids and adults alike! They have a squashed penny machine in there now also.
On the right wall of the main shop, before you go to the next room with the asian antiques, there is a quarter slot that makes the famous train start its journey around the ceiling. It is fun to watch, and goes for a long time, so try that out too.
When we were in the area, Friday was the only day it was open.
